You Just Never Know.

Compassion is a word I think of when I read about very old dogs being taken to shelters. Now, I've been blessed, whenever I had to make that tough choice about one of the animals in my life, I had the money to go to the vet they had known their whole lives, feed them those treats they had not been allowed to have for medical reasons, hold them close, say good bye and have the last breath they take be of me and my scent...with so much love. Many people cannot afford that type of end of life with the pets they have loved their whole lives. So then we see these sweet old dogs/cats put up for rescue and the cruel, insensitive comments...truth is, we don't know what led that animal to be there. We don't know know that there is not a child or a mom someplace crying their eyes out because of this decision. We see an old, sometimes blind, always confused, gray bearded, good dog....alone in a cage. When are we going to figure out a way to help those who need to help their beloved pe
